Alpine Cattle Drive in Söll
Info
Description
The return of herders and animals in Söll and the Wilder Kaiser region is celebrated colourfully and cheerfully every year. The traditional Alpine cattle drive in the Kaiser community of Söll begins with the procession of the Söll Federal Music Band. The herders drive the animals past the Hochsöll Alpine Inn down into the valley. Accompanied by brass band music, the alpine cattle move through the village from midday, returning to their home stables. The event is the highlight of the Alpine Cattle Drive Week.
At the market stalls at the Brunnhoffeld Söll festival grounds, visitors can find doughnuts, fresh milk, alpine cheese, farmer's bacon, and bread. Traders also present regional handicrafts here.
