Skigebiet Muttereralm 2011

Muttereralm skiing area

Close to Innsbruck, at the entrance of the Stubaital valley, there is the hiking area Muttereralm, which in winter transforms into a popular family skiing area.

Two eight-seated gondolas, one starting from Mutters and the other from Götzens, as well as a 4-seated chairlift and the Almboden ski lift take you into the Muttereralm family skiing area at Mutters. The major part of the slopes are easy runs, among which there are also two family runs, ideal for skiing with kids. For those who love challenges, there is the FIS run Muttereralm and the race track Pfriemesköpfl. The nearby skiing area at the Pfriemesköpfl is by the way connected with the Muttereralm skiing area.

The Muttereralmbahn funicular was constructed in the 1950s and recently rebuilt. In 2006 the skiing area was re-inaugurated. At the lower terminus in Mutters and Götzens, you can find a ski and toboggan rental as well as a ski school, their ski instructors teach you how to make your first steps on snow. This skiing area belongs to the ski carousel Olympia SkiWorld Innsbruck.
