Walchsee - Kaiserwinkl

At the border to Germany, there is the holiday area of Kaiserwinkl with its 24 degree C warm Lake Walchsee.

The holiday area Kaiserwinkl comprises the four villages of Kössen, Rettenschöss, Schwendt and Walchsee, located in charming surroundings. In the heart of this holiday area, there is Lake Walchsee, which is also name-giving for one of the villages, as well as the bathing pond Kössen in the forest (Waldschwimmbad Kössen), a popular holiday destination in summertime. Many visitors are also attracted by the mountains, which are the ideal place for inhaling crystal clear mountain air and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view, from a place where Tyrol seems to be at your foot.

When a white snow mantle covers the holiday area, cross-country skiers can rejoice about the offer regarding their favourite sport, as this area offers 244 km of cross-country ski trails (128 km Classic, 116 km Skating). However, those who love skiing can pursue their hobby on the slopes of the two skiing areas Hochkössen-Kaiserwinkl and Zahmer Kaiser-Walchsee. And finally you absolutely don’t have to miss typical Tyrolean après-ski!
