Sölden - Oetztal skiing area
The World Cup skiing area Sölden offers easy slopes for beginners on the Giggijoch as well as challenging slopes on the Gaislachkogl mountain.
BIG 3 - this skiing area in the Oetztal valley is the only one that inculdes three different mountains of three thousand metres, which are the Gaislachkogl (3,058 m), the Tiefenbachkogl (3,250 m) and the Schwarze Schneid (3,340 m). This fact stands for triple skiing fun as well as triple panoramic view! The Tiefenbachkogl mountain offers a fabulous view on the Wildspitze mountain, while the Schwarze Schneid mountain is the giant of the skiing mountains and offers a breath-taking panorama up to the Dolomites. The Gaislachkogl mountain, however, is the smallest of the BIG 3, but also offers a great panoramic view. The skiing area Sölden every year is venue for a women’s and men’s World Cup race in Alpine skiing, but not only for this reason it is world famous.
Snowboarders e.g. will spend most of their holidays in the SWATCH snowpark on the Giggijoch. This boarder’s paradise is located at 2,450 m asl right beneath the chair lifts Hainbachkar and Silberbrünnl. Beside numerous snow elements and jibs there is also the SWATCH SHOOT MY RIDE installation, where your jump is registrated and displayed on a video screen. Moreover nothing lacks for those who love skiing. There are plain exercise slopes for beginners and steep, challenging ski runs for experts as well as World Cup-tested slopes. Also the off-piste offers can show their face, in fact Sölden is not only known for the ski slopes, but also for the parties. And the best: this skiing area is absolutely snow-sure from October to May.
