Skizentrum Hochpustertal 2011

Ski centre Sillian - Hochpustertal

Skiing in the mountains of East Tyrol: the skiing area at the Thurntaler mountain is considered a paradise for winter sports passionates.

It is considered to have the most beautiful cross-country ski slopes and ski tours of the southern Alps: we are talking about the Thurntaler, the local mountain of the Hochpustertal valley in East Tyrol. The local lift facilities take you into the ski centre Hochpustertal at Sillian, where 55 km of well-groomed ski slopes make skiing real fun. One of the slopes is the Kammabfahrt trail, which overcomes a drop of 1,300 m on a length of 11 km, representing the longest ski run of the skiing area. The valley run stretches to Sillian and the Villgratental valley. There are also offers for kids: up to 6 years, they ski for free, if accompanied by an adult. And the “Bobo Kinderland” is likewise popular with the little ones.

Famous is also the “Yellow-Snow”, the southernmost snow park of Austria. Located at the mountain station of the gondola cable-way at 2,130 m asl, it’s been a highlight for snowboarders and free skiers for more than 10 years now. What’s new are the freestyle and free-ride camps, taking place in Christmas holidays, semester breaks and Easter break. In two-day or four-day camps, professionals are going to give you advice. Seeking a nice change? Then we recommend you a horse-drawn sleigh ride or an afternoon on the toboggan run in the ski centre.
