Altitude: 752 m asl
Scheffau, located about 12 km from the motorway exit Kufstein-Süd, is the smallest holiday resort of the holiday area Wilder Kaiser, located at the foot of this very impressive mountain range. In the municipal area, there is also the famous KaiserWorld Scheffau, a paradise for children at 1,650 m asl.
Summer at Scheffau (see pic) stands for summer in the mountains. At Lake Hintersteiner above the village, there is a public lido attracting visitors from all over. Along the road to the beautiful lake there is the Bärnstatt chapel, a Roman-Catholic pilgrimage site. Moreover Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser is the first “Kneipp für mich®” adventure village of Tyrol: Seven different station have been united to one tour. In addition there is an eagle labyrinth, an area for meditation as well as two certified health professionals, providing for your well-being. Those who seek the thrill might want to contact the Flycentre King of the Air, offering tandem flights from the top of the Hartkaiser mountain. Breathtaking!
In winter, however, take the Scheffau mountain funicular in order to reach the SkiWorld Wilder Kaiser-Brixental valley, offering 279 km of ski slopes, which is more than your heart can desire. And while parents perfect their skills on the slopes, children enjoy playing in the Kinderkaiserland at the Brandstadl and in the BoboMiniClub at the mountain station.
Our tip: In summer there is the “Scheffauer Dorfabend”, a special event for those who are interested in Tyrolean culture and tradition. Music and entertainment as well as food and drinks are provided.
