Ferienregion Kitzbühel 2011

Kitzbühel and surroundings

Unforgettable memories wait for you at the foot of the Hahnenkamm mountain.

In the heart of the spectacular world of the Kitzbühel Alps, in the east of North Tyrol, there is the holiday area Kitzbühel and surroundings with its main town Kitzbühel. This small city, also called “Gamsstadt” (Chamois city), enchants you with its romantic alleys, a lovely historical district and its lively nature. As it is also one of the most famous winter sports destinations, also stars and celebrities find the way to Kitzbühel. But that’s not all: Ellmau, located not far away from the town of Kitzbühel, has been setting for the German TV serial “Der Bergdoktor”.

The “Bergbahnen Kitzbühel” funicular take you into the spectacular world of mountains with sounding names like Hahnenkamm and Kitzbüheler Horn. And since 2004 there is the most spectacular funicular worldwide, the “3S-Bahn” funicular. But that’s far from being all: the only curling hall of Austria is located in Kitzbühel and likewise there is the third largest skiing area in Europe “Top Ski Kitzbühel”, featuring 704 km of ski slopes. However, for those who love the rush of adrenaline, the mountains offers a range of possibilities!
