DJ Ötzi

Entertainer, pop singer and folk musician, DJ Ötzi is one of the most famous musicians in Austria and also beyond borders.

Gerhard Friedle, son of the Austrian DJ Anton Friedle, was born in St. Johann in Tirol on January 7, 1971. He grew up with his foster parents and later on with his grandmother. After his apprenticeship as a chef, for a few years he lived homeless on the street. His career as a vocal artist began in a karaoke bar, where his talent was discovered. Afterwards he worked as host, DJ and singer, first in Austria, later on in Mallorca and Turkey.

In 1999 he came out with the song „Anton aus Tirol“ which immediately conquered the German charts. Blow upon blow he succeeded, also with his second hit “Hey Babe” in 2000, which came out in more than 15 countries and he even conquered the charts in South Africa, Denmark and Australia. In England DJ Ötzi, as first Austrian artist, he even achieved the platinum record. His third number one hit, “Burger Dance”, followed.
However, that’s far from being all. In 2007 he bettered his three hits: Gerry Friedle, together with his friend Nik P., came out with the song “Ein Stern (der deinen Namen trägt), enthusing nations. They both managed the impossible, in other words 12 weeks undisputed number 1 in the German charts and far longer in his home country Austria. This resulted in double platinum record for the single and platin for the album.

We are sure that this is far from being all and DJ Ötzi will enchant us with songs to sing along with also in the future!
