It is considered to have the most beautiful cross-country ski slopes and ski tours of the southern Alps - we are talking about Mt Thurntaler, the local mountain of the Hochpustertal valley in East Tyrol. The Hochpustertaler Bergbahnen lift facilities take you into the ski center Sillian, where 22.5 km ski slopes make skiing real fun. One of the slopes is the Kammabfahrt, which overcomes a drop of 1,300 m, representing the longest ski run. The valley runs stretch to Sillian and the Villgratental valley. And if you want to try your first swings, the Hochpustertal ski school helps you with the right technique.
There are also offers for kids: up to 6 years they ski for free, if accompanied by an adult, and kids between 6 and 18 years get reduced prices of 50%. The Bobo Kinderland is likewise popular with the little ones. Famous is also the Snowpark-Funpark Yellowsnow, the southernmost snow park of Austria. Located at the mountain station of the gondola at 2,130 m asl, it’s been a highlight for snowboarders and free skiers for more than 10 years now. The special freestyle and free-ride camps are well-known, taking place in Christmas holidays, semester breaks and Easter break. In two-day or four-day camps, professionals are going to give you advice.
The “Tyrol Snow Card” (91 skiing areas, 4,000 km slopes) and the “SkiHit Osttirol” ski pass are valid in the Sillian ski center. Seeking a nice change? Then we recommend you a horse-drawn sleigh ride or an afternoon on one of the natural toboggan runs in the surroundings.
