Almflieger Gerlosstein

Above Gerlos and Hainzenberg in the Zillertal valley rises the Gerlosstein, an adventure mountain and hiker's paradise in summer and skiing area in winter. There, the Almpromenade path tells you about the witch on the Gerlosstein and leads you up to the Almtribüne stand, which offers a magnificent view over the entire valley. But the highlight for the ultimate thrill is called Almflieger.

It is a flying device that evolved from the Fyling Fox and is 738 m long here in the Zillertal valley. This length is divided into four sections, which are covered at speeds of up to 50 kmph.

You can reach the Almflieger at an altitude of 1,650 m with the Gerlosstein Cable Car, which starts in Hainzenberg. The entrance is right next to the mountain station. Sportswear and sturdy shoes are required, children up to 14 years may participate if accompanied. For active holidaymakers, Mt. Gerlosstein also offers a via ferrata and the longest, illuminated sledge run in the Zillertal.
