Brixental Kitzbühel Cycle Route

The Brixental Cycle Path leads from Wörgl in the Inn Valley through the Brixental valley to Kitzbühel, the “Chamois Town”

South of Wörgl near Bruckhäusl, at the entrance to the Brixental valley, the Brixental Kitzbühel Cycle Route (Radweg Brixental Kitzbühel) starts as a turn-off from the Wilder Kaiser MTB Route R14. Through the narrow section of the valley below Itter, the path leads to Hopfgarten and then into the Windau Valley, where the route makes a larger loop through the gentle landscape before it proceeds up to Westendorf. We continue on forest paths and side roads past the Westendorf Golf Club, Brixen im Thale, Kirchberg in Tirol, and finally reach Kitzbühel.

On the northern side of the valley, Mt. Hohe Salve rises up to the sky, in the south the Kitzbühel Alps. Shortly before Kitzbühel, the path proceeds to the bank of Lake Schwarzsee (Black Lake) at 762 m a.s.l. At the finish, there is a connection to the Leukental Cycle Route.

  • Train & Bike: railway line running parallel to the cycle path, access to regional trains with bicycle transport is possible in most of the villages

Connection to other cycle routes in Tyrol:

  • near Wörgl south: Wilder Kaiser Cycle Route R14
  • near Kitzbühel: Leukental Cycle Route R20 towards Kössen or Jochberg
  • various MTB routes in the surrounding mountains

Attention: The described cycle routes are only sectionally cycle paths in the narrower sense. They often proceed on byroads where also car and tractor traffic is allowed. Please take care!
