In the hiking and skiing area Hochstein in the beautiful East Tyrol, there is the all-year round toboggan run ”Osttirodler”.
The “Osttirodler”, an Alpine Coaster, can be reached by taking the Schlossbergbahn funicular. This combined 8-seater gondola and 6-seater chairlift takes you from the Hochstein valley station to the Moosalm pasture at the Lienzer Schlossberg hill. If you come with your kids, here you will probably have to stop for the first time, as the petting zoo and the adventure playground are going to make your kids’ hearts leap for joy. You love climbing? Then we recommend you to experience the largest climbing park of Tyrol, located at the Lienzer Schlossberg.
Exactly in this place, also the “Osttirodler”, one of the longest Alpine Coasters in the world, starts. Alone or in twos, you can enjoy rushing down the 2.7 km into the valley, overcoming speedy curves and a breathtaking height. A thrill of adrenaline is guaranteed! If you decide to keep your eyes open while enjoying this thrill, you can admire Bruck Castle and the beautiful city of Lienz, before you leave the sledge in the finish area of the Hochstein Arena.
The thrilling ride takes you about 5-6 minutes, two handbrakes make you decide how fast you want to ride. In order to guarantee you safety, there are a high speed regulation, a double track system, a system that prevents the sledge from running off the rails and many more features. As the “Osttirodler” also works with rain and snow, it is a whole-year-round toboggan run!
