Lake Urisee with its surface of 5.7 hectares is a little lake for bathing in the surroundings of Reutte.
Beside Lake Heiterwang and Lake Plansee, Lake Urisee is the third lake for bathing in the surroundings of Reutte. This lake is located only a stone's throw from the bypass and can be reached via the locality Mühl. The waters of the lake are of excellent quality and reach the third and best level on the EU-scale. Due to the fact that the lake has no own affluent of run-off, the water level is continuously fluctuating. In summer its waters reach a temperature of 23 degrees C.
At the lakeside, lawns for sunbathing have been planed and arranged. Like in the lakes Frauensee and Plansee, also in Lake Urisee you can enjoy swimming, rowing, sailing, surfing as well as canoeing and kajaking. Also very popular is the lake with divers, not only summer, but the whole year round. In summer, however, visibility is up to 20 metres and there are tree trunks covered by algae. There are by the way five different platforms. In winter Lake Urisee offers ideal conditions for ice diving. For the first trials, there is also a diving school. As regards walking, you can promenade round the lake on the circular trail or make a hike to the Dürrenberger Alm pasture, providing a great view on the nature park region Reutte, up to the Lechtal valley.
The trail starts at the parking space at the lake and takes along a 1 km long trail. Afterwards you can choose a shorter variant, or you proceed on the forested road to the alpine hut. Those, however, who would like to proceed, can scale the Koflerjoch mountain (1,863 m asl). By the way: the hiking trail to the Dürrenberger Alm pasture transforms into a toboggan run in winter months, while the trail to the Koflerjoch mountain is in winter popular with those who love snowshoeing!
