Description
Lake Heiterwang is situated 994 metres above sea level – and this is where the action starts. Swimming in the clear mountain water is also one of the highest-altitude triathlon swim legs in Austria.
The cycle stage is a new addition, leading through the gravel region around the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena. Highlights include natural gravel paths, impressive mountain views and demanding climbs. The running route loops around Lake Heiterwang on gently undulating trail and forest terrain.
Participants can choose between two main distances: the short distance (1,500-metre swim, 44 km gravel ride, 13 km trail run) and the sprint distance (750-metre swim, 22 km gravel ride, 6.5 km trail run). Both formats are also open to relay teams. There are also aquabike and bike-and-run events available across both distances.
