Description
Every year, hundreds of professional and amateur bikers gather at the foot of the Hahnenkamm for the International Hahnenkamm MTB Race in Kitzbühel. This traditional race challenges participants to conquer the legendary ski mountain on a mountain bike. The riders must cover 9.2 kilometres to reach the finish line, tackling a mass start in the town centre, 940 metres of elevation gain, and gravel roads with gradients of up to 16 per cent.
The route runs from Schattberg via the Einsiedelei farm track to the Astenalm and Melkalm pastures, and across the Walde junction up the Hahnenkamm to the Walde mountain station. The award ceremony takes place there from 2 pm.
Categories include licensed classes, sports classes for Under-15 and Under-17 riders, and gravel bike classes for all age groups. Prize money and trophies are up for grabs in every category.
