SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental
The ski carousel SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental is the largest skiing area of Austria featuring 279 km of slopes.
The following localities belong the the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental: Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Kelchsau, Scheffau, Söll and Westendorf. To clarify, if you spend your holidays in one of these villages, you are directly connected to the largest skiing area of Austria! Needless to say that the offer is wide and the variety of slopes huge. And if Mother Hulda one day might forget to snow, an express snow cannon system will provide snow within only three days on at least 110 km of ski slopes. Not for nothing this ski region has been declared the “world’s best skiing area” in 2006/07. What’s new are the various kinds of family tickets, making you get considerably reduced rates.
The variety is also wide for snowboarders, who will amuse themselves in the fun parks. Moreover there are three different ski routes, taking you across the entire area of the Wilder Kaiser mountain chain. Follow the yellow signs for the “Salven Runde” ski route (in the skiing areas Brixen im Thale, Hopfgarten, Itter and Söll), the orange arrows for the “Kaiser Runde” ski route (in the skiing areas Brixen im Thale, Scheffau, Ellmau and Going) and the green ones in order to follow the “Westendorf Runde” ski route (in the skiing areas Brixen im Thale and Westendorf). By the way: the ski lift “Sonnenlift” is operated by a photo-voltaic system, so to speak the power of sun takes skiers back on the top of the mountain. Comme il faut!
