Obergurgl-Hochgurgl

Snow in abundance, a great variety and fantastic skiing conditions expect you in the skiing area Obergurgl/Hochgurgl.

The skiing areas Obergurgl/Hochgurgl, located at the head of the Ötztal valley, offers snow in abundance and great skiing conditions from mid November to the beginning of May. More than 110 km of well groomed ski slopes are waiting to be explored in the skiing areas Obergurgl/Hochgurgl. What is also impressive is the view on the surrounding world of mountains, which can be enjoyed while skiing. A lasting experience is also a ride with the Gaisberg and Hohe Mut lift facility, which takes you on one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains of Tyrol, which has hardly no equal.

The variety of slopes is a hard act to follow. Beginners usually make their first steps on snow on the Geiselsberg and Mahdstuhl lift facilities, while ambitious skiers love skiing on the Festkogl (Obergurgl) and on the Schermerspitze slope (Hochgurgl). A real challenge is the steep slope from the “Hohe Mut” as well as moguls skiing at the Top-Wurmkogel II. However, in case natural snow might fail to appear, there are modern snow cannons providing white slopes.

Those who prefer moving off-piste can enjoy a wide variety of activities, as e.g. cross-country skiing, ice skating or curling on the ice track in Obergurgl. Winter walking and snowshoeing is winter experience in its purest form - just try it yourself. And no need to say that this winter wonderland is an experience for those who love ski mountaineering.
