A wide variety of offers is available on the Stubai glacier, which according to the “Skimagazin” (October 2006) is considered to be the “number one of European glacial skiing areas”. Snow is never lacking, but that’s needless to say. The double chair lift Wildspitz, connecting Windach- and Daunferner, has been modernised and offers even more comfort for winter athletes. To sum up, skiing on the Stubai glacier stands for ski fun from October to June!
In order to guarantee that also the young talented baby-athletes feel at ease, there is also a special programme for children in the Micky Mouse Club, where kids can learn skiing in a playful manner. However, snowboarders will amuse themselves in the funpark, boasting banked cross, rails, steep face curves and fun boxes. Also this area is family-friendly, as there is an own children’s area in the funpark, where they can hone their skills and learn by watching. You wish for a rush of adrenaline? So try skiing on the giant slalom race course on the Eisjochferner as well as on the speed race track on the Daunferner.
Thanks to the diverse variety of ski slopes on the glacier, the slopes are hardly ever overcrowded and you don’t have to wait at the lift facilities. And in case one day, despite of the variety of offers, you don’t want to go skiing, you can enjoy the fairytale-like winter landscape during a pleasant winter walk or while cross-country skiing.
