Großglockner Resort Kals - Matrei 2011

Grossglockner Resort Kals-Matrei ski region

The skiing area Grossglockner Resort is the largest skiing area of East Tyrol, including 110 km of ski slopes.

Two become one! The skiing area Kals at the Grossglockner and the Matreier Goldried form the new skiing area Grossglockner Resort. Some 110 km of well groomed ski slopes are available and no matter where you ski, you can anyway enjoy skiing with a view to the highest mountain of Austria. Also the mountain ranges of the Grossglockner, Schober and Granatspitz will cast a spell over you. What is also worth mentioning are the prices for kids. One of the highlights is the heatable chair lift, which is by the way the first in East Tyrol. This is where everyone finds something for its taste, including snowboarders, carvers and those who simply would like to enjoy their favourite winter sport.

There are slopes of every level of difficulty and slopes with deep powder snow will make you get even more enthusiastic. The Grossglockner Resort is completely snow sure due to the state-of-the-art snow making equipment and there are 15 modern lift facilities available. At the mountain station of the gondola lift, there is a special children’s area with warming room, magic carpet and a vast area. Another area for children is available in the centre of Kals on a sunny meadow. Also off the slopes this region builds on soft winter sports and offers the possibility to make winter hikes, make sled rides, go ice skating and try cross-country skiing. Have fun in the new skiing area.
