The Alpbachtal is located in the heart of Tyrol, only a stone’s throw from the Zillertal valley, and far away from mass tourism. The main village of the Alpbachtal, which is Alpbach, has been declared “the best little skiing village of Europe” in 2004 and offers direct access to the skiing area “Wiedersbergerhorn”. But that’s far from being all - the British Ski Magazine “The Good Skiing & Snowboarding Guide” has awarded with the “White Oscar” in the category “Small resort of the Year”. However, the Wiedersbergerhorn in the Alpbachtal valley is considered to be a perfect place for ambitious skiers, while the Reither Kogel is a particularly family-friendly skiing area.
Those who make their first steps on skis can come to the lifts in Kramsach as well as to Reith, where there are also easy ski slopes which are perfect for learning how to ski. Ambitious skiers can be found in the skiing area of the Wiedersbergerhorn, which offers great downhill runs, steep slpes and deep powder snow slopes, perfect for experts. Moreover there area FIS slopes at the Hornboden, while snowboarders prefer the funpark with halfpipe.
The skiing areas in the Alpbachtal are snow sure, even if Mother Hulda has no time - there is a huge reservoir which makes area-covering artificial snow making possible. So what are you waiting for?! :-)
