Cross-country skiing at the highest stage - Tyrol is an exemplary cross-country skiing region and offers a wide variety of cross country ski tracks in every level of difficulty.

Not without good reason this sport is booming - it involves more than 90 % of all muscles and it does not stress the joints. Moreover cross-country skiing is a real fountain of youth and fitness and perfect to strengthen your body consciousness. Moreover it is perfect for alleviating stress - enough reasons to start cross-country skiing, don’t you think?

Tyrol offers great conditions for gliding in the snow - more than incredible 4,000 km of cross country ski slopes expect you. To the fore are not only the athletic aspects, but also the pleasure to fully enjoy nature is of utmost importance in this sports. Classic tracks, skating tracks and high altitude tracks snake their way across the snow-covered landscape of Tyrol and cross alpine pastures and winterly forests. In fact, Tyrol is a real Mecca for cross-country skiers, nearly every skiing area in Tyrol offers cross-country ski tracks.

We recommend you to simply stick to the so called “Loipen Gütesiegel”, a seal of quality which is awarded by the state government of Tyrol. The safety and the maintenance of the ski tracks are taken into consideration regarding this seal of quality. The following tourist associations have been awarded: Achensee (Achenkirch, Maurach, Eben, Pertisau), Fiss,Galtür, Kaiserwinkl (Kössen, Walchsee), Kals, Kauenrtal (Feichten), Längenfeld (Längenfeld, Huben), Mieminger Plateau & Fernpass-Seen (Obsteig, Mieming,Wildermieming, Nassereith), Ötztal Mitte (Niederthai), Pillerseetal (Hochfilzen, St. Ulrich, Waidring), Prägraten, Reutte (Reutte, Höfen, Wängle, Lechaschau), Olympiaregion Seefeld (Seefeld, Leutasch), Serfaus, St. Johann inTirol, St. Sigmund-Haggen and Wipptal (Steinach, Gschnitz).
