Serfaus is located at the foot of the Samnaun mountain chain and since the 19th century it has been attracting visitors from all over. The huge fire of 1942 fundamentally changed the village: Serfaus once has been a Rhaeto-Romance clustered village, whereas today the buildings are allocated in a different way.
In summer a dense network of gondola lifts take you into the world of mountains. With the “Super-Summer-Card” you can use all gondola lifts as well as the shuttle which connects the three villages for free. Once reached an elevated altitude the alpine world invites you to be discovered. The beautiful alpine flora and fauna as well as the earth pillars make your vacation even more varied. These unique earth formations, which are protected from complete ablation by the stone at the top, are by the way a popular photo motif!
In the skiing region Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, the three homonymous localities are connected by a total of 204 km of ski slopes. The offer is really wide and includes a freeride area for snowboarders, slopes for carvers and a race track for those who would like to compete. Not enough? Also snow-tubing and mini-skidoo is possible and specific facilities can be found in Serfaus. So not only snow is guaranteed, but also action! :-) And before you return into your accommodation and relax, have a drink in one of the après-ski establishments…
Our recommendation: a free air cushion funicular takes you from the Dorfbahnstrasse street to the ski lifts. It features some characteristics of an underground and therefore it has already been called the “shortest underground worldwide”!
