The little village with a heart that is characterised by the Rhaeto-Romanic construction style attaches great importance to customs and traditions. Carnival for example is lavishly celebrated every four years, the next huge celebration is taking place in 2013. This is when Tarrenz transforms into a village of witches! Also the yearly celebrated “Gassenfest” is one of the main events in the course of the year. And at the end of the summer, the return of the cattle from the alpine pastures is celebrated in the so-called “Schafschied”, which is a popular event with inhabitants and guests. The local culture and museum association offers several special exhibitions that are really worth to be visited. Also for those who love active holidays there is much to do and see in the surroundings of Tarrenz, e.g. the keep.fit-trail “Fit 2000″, the boulder gym Tarrenz with a climbing area of 100 sqm or the Seehof riding stable. In winter ice skating is one of the most popular activities in the village. And for kids, there is the “Witched Children Educational Trail” (Verhexter Kinderlehrpfad) starting from above the parish church. 16 information panels with questions on legends and animals in the surroundings of the Salvesen gorge provide lots of useful information.
