Tösens is one of the smallest villages of the Tiroler Oberland region and is for this reason a perfect place for those who seek relaxation. Beside the main village, there are also some hamlets belonging to the municipality.
Above the village, there is the entirely coloured S. George church, which in the 15th century has been enlarged, while opposite Tösens there is a Roman bridge, probably the oldest preserved bridge of Tyrol. This old stone arch bridge has been established in the Middle Ages in Roman construction style and is part of the famous Roman road “Via Claudia Augusta”. Also cyclists and mountain bikers are increasingly attracted by the mountains, lovely mountain lakes as well as the vast trail network. Those who seek the thrill, however, can do an exciting rafting tour in the gorge of Tösens!
Of course skiing is the number one activity in winter, offering the “Ski6″ skipass, which makes you access the skiing areas Ried-Prutz-Fendels, Nauders, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Venet and the Kaunertal glacial skiing area. A free shuttle service connects the skiing areas. Also the Hubertus cross-country trail at the Kaunerberg is really popular with those who love this sports. And to others, who prefer the absolute calm, we recommend you to go winter hiking, inhaling the atmosphere the snow-capped landscape conveys…
Our recommendation: would you like to make a day trip? Charming and well-known towns such as St. Moritz in Switzerland and Merano in South Tyrol/Italy are only about 100 km away.
