Häselgehr

In Häselgehr you can discover the Tiroler Lech Nature Park in a unique way: during a paragliding flight or a ski tour

Altitude: 1,003 m a.s.l.

Located at slighlty more than 1,000 m a.s.l., Häselgehr is protected by one of the largest avalanche barriers of Central Europe, as it has repeatedly been threatened by avalanches from Mt. Heuberg, towering above the village. The old name "Hesligeren" refers to a cuneiform field system overgrown with hazelnuts. Today, the municipality in the upper Lechtal is composed of 11 hamlets.

One of these component localities is called Alach, and there you can find the Fun Rafting & Canyoning Center, which offers rafting tours on the Lech river in the category II. The wild river with its wide riverbed and huge gravel bars is located in the Tiroler Lech Nature Park. Many rare plant and animal species grow and live on its shores. Also canyoning in the natural gorges of the Lechtal valley and tours with Canadian canoes, made for 2-3 persons, are available.

A little bit slower but nevertheless also special are tours with solid ground under your feet: One of the mountain huts in the surroundings of Häselgehr is the Griessbach Hut, and also the 2,111 m high Lachenkopf mountain, a wonderful viewing point, is a popular destination. The path leads from the mountain station of the Jöchelspitze Chairlift in an hour beneath Mt. Jöchelspitze to the peak. Starting from Häselgehr, however, the tour takes 3.5 hours and snakes its way from the Lech Bridge to Marienruh, and further on to the Hanselstadl, an uninhabited shepherds' refuge.
