Langkampfen
The holiday restort Langkampfen offers a fantastic view on the Kaiser mountain chain.

Langkampfen and its component localities Oberlangkampfen, Niederbreitenbach, Unterlangkampfen, Morsbach, Au and Schaftenau are located at the sunny side of the Inn river. About 3,500 people inhabit the municipal area, part of which is also Lake Stimmersee below the Pendling mountain. In summer this lake is a popular lake for swimming, while a trail takes promenaders round Lake Stimmersee. By the way, it is also a popular starting point for hikes to the Dreibrunnenjoch mountain, to the village Thiersee or to the Pendling mountain.
Langkampfen is an active village, not last due to the large number of hiking trails snaking in the surroundings, which are also awarded with a special seal of quality, and there is also a glider airfield. At the locality Niederbreitenbach you can find three tennis courts, while the Inn riverside is perfect for inline skating. Langkampfen is also located at the Inn cycle path leading to Passau in Germany. Pony riding and Haflinger horse riding for children is offered by the Weberhof at Oberlangkampfen. And in case you would like to indulge in small town atmosphere, just visit Kufstein (8 km) and Wörgl (10 km), which are also perfect for a shopping afternoon in case of bad weather…
In winter Langkampfen and surroundings offer fantastic cross-country ski trails, a toboggan run, an ice stock track, an ice rink for skating as well as a lift facility with respective exercising ski run. The village also includes the Schönwörth castle, a reconstructed residential tower dating back to the 13th century. It is part of the oldest historic residences of Tyrol, but as it is in private hands it cannot be visited. What you can admire instead are the prehistoric items in the Thurnerhof, which were found and gathered along the Roman Road. Make a journey in time!
