Kramsach
The highest high-rope course as well as probably the most bizarre museum of Tyrol are located at Kramsach.

Kramsach is located along the north riverside of the Inn. In the hamlet Hagau, which is also part of the municipality, white-rose marmor has been quarried since Middle Ages. The S. Anna Column in Innsbruck for example, as well as many churches have been built, using this special kind of marble. Once upon a time beside fishing in the Reintal lakes, stone-cutting was the main economic branch in this area and this activity also launched an economic revival of the area. Today Kramsach is a well-liked holiday resort, offering plenty of accommodations as well as camping sites.
However, there is much to see in the village, e.g. the Tyrolean Farmhouse Museum located in the east of Kramsach. This open-air museum exhibits various forms of Tyrolean farms as well as ways and means of traditional food production and former working animals. In the cemetery museum in the hamlet Hagau, also called the “Merry Cemetery”, you can admire forged grave crosses of the entire alpine area with quirky inscriptions. What a bizarre museum! Finally there is a Sculpture Park near the Brandberger Ache river, which has been established by Alois Schild, a local artist.
In summer the six lakes of the lake area “Kramsacher Seengebiet” attract people from all over: Lake Krummsee, Reintal, Berglsteinersee, Buchsee, Frauensee and Lake Zireiner. If you seek the thrill, just try tube riding, kayaking, rafting and wild water swimming. By the way, since 2003 the highest high-rope course of Tyrol is located at Kramsach in the outdoor center. This course has been established among the treetops in an altitude of 12 to 17 metres! However, in winter there is the Ski Jewel Alpbachtal Wildschönau in the surroundings, and a ski lift for beginners is located directly in the village. Lake Reintal, if frozen, is perfect terrain for those who love ice skating (AYOR).
Our recommendation: the pilgrimage church Mariathal at the entrance of the Tiefenbachklamm canyon and the Brandberg valley has been adjudicated to be a basilica. It is considered to be one of the en bloc Baroqe ensembles par excellence!
