Did you know that you are planning vacations in the “most beautiful greening and flowering village of Europe”? Flowers line village streets and bloom in nearby meadows. Hardly surprising that the village has been awarded by “Entente Florale” in 1998. Idyllic farms, lush alpine pastures and a varied flora and fauna offer all prerequisites for relaxing holidays in Westendorf.
Holidays in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps means swimming, hiking, playing golf and miniature golf. A large number of varied hiking trails invite you to explore the landscape on foot. If you would like to make a hike with your family, we recommend you a path where you can guess traces of animals while hiking to five different mountain lodges. Moreover panels provide useful information…
The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental is connected to the skiing area Kitzbühel by the “Ki-West” train in Westendorf. Together with other connected skiing areas it represents the third largest skiing area throughout Europe, the so called “Top Ski Kitzbüheler Alpen”. All skiing areas are accessible via one ski pass. Figures reveal what this area has to offer: 356 funicular railways, more than 700 km of ski slopes, 200 lodges and mountain restaurants… in order to explore the entire area you might need a very long vacation! However, there is also a cross-country ski track as well as a toboggan run in Westendorf.
Our recommendation: every year in the period of carnival there is the popular event “Jump & Freeze”, in which daring people try to leap over a water basin with home-made vehicles. In 2009 there was its 13th edition!
