The calm holiday resort of Hatting is located along the famous Way of St. James.

Hatting, Hattingerberg and Schöfftal form the municipality of Hatting in the Inntal valley. In its original layout the village traces back to the ancient salt road from Kematen to Telfs. Hatting was mentioned for the first time in the 11th century, from 1974 to 1933 it was integrated into the municipality of Inzing. Today it is again an autonomous village and a calm holiday resort. The emblem of the municipality shows four blue waves, referring to its affiliation to the Inn river, as well as two shamrocks, deriving from the emblem of the Lordship of Hatting.
The calm holiday resort extends on the edge of a wood in the Inntal valley and is getting more and more popular, above all with families. Pleasant tours make you experience the beauty of the North Tyrolean mountains… inhale the crystal clear mountain air and enjoy the great panoramic views! Moreover the Way of St. James, a European long-distance walking trail, snakes in the surroundings of the village. This pilgrimage trail which ends at the tomb of Saint James at Santiago di Compostela in the north east of Galicia/Spain, is also suitable for a day excursion. A possible tour starts at Inzing and takes to Hatting (3 km), farther to Polling, Flaurling, Oberhofen, Pfaffenhofen, Rietz, Stams, Mötz and to Haiming, whereas the walk may end at any of the above mentioned villages. Along the bottom of the valley and the Inn river, there is the Inn cycle path which is suitable for a comfortable trip as it does not feature hardly any drop. If you would like to make a MTB-tour into the world of mountains, we warmly recommend you to cycle to the Archbrandhütte refuge: this 10 km long trail on asphalt and gravel path first takes you to Hattingerberg and then further on to the Archbrandhütte refuge at 1,696 m asl. By the way: slightly below this refuge, there is the Inzinger Alm pasture, which can be reached on a bypath.
Probably the most significant sight of the village is the local parish church, the history of which is is not completely revealed. Originally dedicated to Saint Tertulin, it was reconstructed in 1359 and dedicated to Saint Ägidius. That is what is documented in the village chronicles. In parts the Gothic construction style is still recognizable, even if the church has repeatedly been altered in the course of time. Worth noticing are also the Gothic frescoes in the interior, which were laid open some centuries ago…
