In Gries in the Sellrain Valley there is a Kneipp facility, where you can bring your muscles to heel after a day in the mountains

Gries im Sellrain is located in the middle of the Sellrain Valley, a side valley of the Inn Valley. Part of the municipality are several hamlets located at the slopes, the bottom of the valley between Obergries and Untermarendebach, as well as the rear part of the Lüsens Valley. A road leads from here to the mountain village of Kühtai with its famous skiing area. Gries is located in idyllic position at the foot of Mt. Freihut and Mt. Rosskogel, both belonging to the Stubai Alps.
The Sellrain Valley is particularly popular with those who seek relaxations and calm. You will be spoilt for choice, no matter if you prefer pleasant walks in the surroundings of the village, a hike from pasture to pasture, or if you aim higher on the top of the mountains. A tour has of course to be combined with a typical Tyrolean afternoon snack called "Brettljause", as nowhere else cheese and Speck are more tasty than on the mountains. A popular destination is the Juifen Mountain Hut at 2,022 m a.s.l., which is well-known for its good traditional fare and the panoramic view.
During the cold months, this mountain hut turns into a beautiful destination of a winter hike - with toboggan run for the way back. There's also a second toboggan run near the village, called Neder, and some cross-country ski trails, including the 1 km long illuminated Gries im Sellrain Circuit. A real attraction for the little guests, however, is the Marmot Adventure Playground in Gries: hand over hand along a rope, balancing, with the cableway across the playground... there are many adventures for kids. By the way, did you know that the valley has a large marmot population?!
