Perchtenlauf

Devils’ runs

In many localities of Tyrol, soon there will be the traditional devils’ runs.

The devils’ runs in Tyrol are always much longed for, and everyone knows the devils, but who are the so called “Perchten”? These dreads are generally speaking the female equivalent of the devils and they are always equipped with a bell to cast out the winter.
