Freeriding is not only a feeling of liberty, but also bears several risks about which skiers and snowboarders should be conscious about. The SAAC avalanche camps provide useful, even life-saving information, free of charge. The camps include two days, certified alpine guides and ski guides inform you about risk minimisation and prevention of accidents.
Day 1 - theoretical unit (about 3 hours)
Subjects: equipment, types of avalanche, weather, landforms, avalanche alter levels, group dynamics, analysis of avalanche situation, weather, group, tour
Day 2 - practice (whole day)
Exercises: risk management, danger check, terrain check, decision support, code of practice, avalanche victim search
Emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, avalanche probe) can also be rent for free.
