Patscherkofel - Innsbruck skiing area

Skiing in the Tux Alps above the rooftops of Innsbruck is possible in the Olympic skiing area Patscherkofel.

The skiing area Patscherkofel is located in Igls, which belongs to the city of Innsbruck. In fact, in 1964 and 1976 the skiing area Patscherkofel has been venue for Olympic downhill races in male alpine skiing, and women still dispute World Cup races on the Patscherkofel. Thanks to ski legends like Franz Klammer, Hermann Maier, Renate Götschl and Michaela Dorfmeister, this ski mountain is steeped in history!

The skiing area Patscherkofel offers 18 km of well-groomed ski slopes - experts can accept the challenge to ski down the Olympic slopes abd the new World Cup slope to the Olympia run, while beginners can put up with plain slopes. The winter season 2013/14 was totally dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck.

Moreover the skiing area is suitable for family holidays. While your children merrily amuse themselves in the children’s park, you can enjoy skiing on red and black slopes. Enough skiing? At the valley station in Igls, there is also an ice skating ground, which is a welcome change in your winter holidays. By the way: the skiing area is part of the Olympia SkiWorld Innsbruck, a ski carousel made up of 9 skiing areas.
