Skigebiet Kellerjoch 2011

Kellerjoch - Schwaz skiing area

Far away from hustle and bustle of the large ski centres, there is the skiing area at the Kellerjoch in Schwaz.

The Kellerjoch is a small but mighty skiing area that provides a great panoramic view on the Tux Alps in the south and the Karwendel mountain range in the north. It has its own family downhill run and a 4 km long toboggan run and is considered a family-friendly area. For those who love challenges, there is the Waizer ski slope as well as a sports downhill run. One of the special offers of the local ski schools are by the way courses for returners, as many people learn skiing and then don’t practise it for years.

Beside the Kellerjoch, there are several more ski lifts in the surroundings: the Schwanner ski lift in Weerberg for instance serves a relatively plain slope, ideal terrain for kids and beginners. The Hüttegg ski lift in Weerberg overcomes a drop of 250 metres to take you on the slopes. The Burglift in Stans has its own snow park and provides the possibility to practise night-time skiing. And finally, the Kolsassberg skiing area offers three T-bar lifts and a magic carpet. Ideal for making the first passes on snow!
