Tyrolean Farmhouse Museum

This Tyrolean open-air museum is located between Innsbruck and Kufstein and has been founded in 1974.

The largest open-air museum of Tyrol is located in the municipality of Kramsach in the east of Lake Reintal. Fragments of rural Tyrolean architecture have been collected and brought together in the Tyrolean Farmhouse Museum. This is where you can visit 14 farmhouses with annexed buildings like mill, blacksmith and chapel as well as small animals like ducks, geese and chicken, as these animals make part of life in a farmhouse.

One of the highlights in the Tyrolean Farmhouse Museum is the annual “Kirchtag” fair. This is when activities are presented, providing an insight into rural life. Local farmers provide for your creature comforts.

However, also in numerous other events visitors can set their hand, e.g. making clogs, grinding knifes, knipling, baking bread, making cheese and stirring butter. On a regular basis there are also special events for children in summer.
