Ebbs Haflinger Foal Farm

The modern stud farm Haflinger Fohlenhof Ebbs was founded in 1947 and features about 100 Haflinger horses

The Ebbs Haflinger Foal Farm is one of the most significant Haflinger stud farms worldwide. Already the Celts discovered this spot of land at the foot of Mt. Zahmer Kaiser for horse breeding. Today, however, the farm features some 100 Haflinger horses. Two indoor riding arenas and the stables are accessible: Horses spend winter in their stables, while colts pass summer on alpine pastures, and the mares with the foals as well as the stallions stay at the Ebbs Haflinger Foal Farm.

Furtermore there is the Haflinger Horse and Horse Carriage Museum: Many exhibits are more than 100 years old, but could still be used. One of the highlights is the 200-year old original saddle which was used in the movie "The Last Valley" with Omar Sharif and Michael Caine as leading actors. To the stud belong 10 hectares of closures as well as a an area for carriages with dressage course and six fixed hurdles. Trained and certified staff also give horse riding lessons.

A visit in the Haflinger Foal Farm is also possible when the weather is bad, as most of the attractions are sheltered. On February 1, 2013, in Ebbs the World Haflinger Federation was founded, an organisation that also comprises South Tyrol (seat of the European Haflinger Horse Breeders Association) and North Tyrol (seat of the World Haflinger Association).
